IV Therapy Q & A

What is IV therapy?

IV therapy is a treatment that can give you a boost in energy and improve certain symptoms associated with infection, dehydration, toxins, dehydration or a lack of nutrients. For your IV therapy, Tri-Life Health helps you select a combination of vitamins, amino acids, and custom nutrients that can improve your well-being. Then, your provider delivers them into your system through an intravenous drip.

While you can get all of the nutrients you need through food and dietary supplements, not all of them make it into your bloodstream. Many vitamins and nutrients get lost along your digestive tract, and only about half of them are absorbed. With IV therapy, the nutrients go directly into your bloodstream, so you absorb 100% of them. You feel the effects almost immediately.

There also are specialty IVs including ozone, NAD, vitamin C and others that can help address a variety of chronic or degenerative conditions.  IV therapy can also provide additional support and nutrition for those dealing with cancer.

What can IV therapy treat?

You can use IV therapy as a treatment for general feelings of unwellness or for symptoms of certain conditions. If you simply need some extra energy to get through a stressful week at work, IV therapy can be the pick-me-up you need. It can also help relieve:

  • Fibromyalgia pain
  • Migraines
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Addictions
  • Skin conditions
  • A compromised immune system
  • Jet lag
  • Dehydration
  • Nutrient deficiencies

If you’re uncertain about IV therapy for your condition, Tri-Life Health can inform you of the benefits that you might experience. Your provider may also recommend IV therapy as part of a multimodal treatment plan.

What should I expect during IV therapy?

When you come to Tri-Life Health for IV therapy, you discuss your symptoms and expectations for treatment. Your provider can describe your options for various vitamins and nutrients to put into your IV drip and the benefits of each of them.

During the treatment, you sit in a comfortable reclining chair and relax. Your provider at Tri-Life Health locates a vein in your arm and inserts a hollow needle. The needle is connected via a tube to a pouch containing your nutrient-rich fluid. You sit comfortably for 20 minutes to one hour as the nutrients enter your system. During this time, you can read, scroll through your phone, or listen to music, and your provider monitors you at all times.

The way you feel after your treatment depends on the nutrients that you get and what you’re treating. You might feel an instant boost in energy, or you might notice a difference in the way you feel the next day.
